Oliver Bierhoff is worried that Germany internationals Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sané will see their playing time decrease following Sadio Mané’s arrival at Bayern München.
“It could be a problem, especially in a World Cup year, when there are too many top players in the squad, who all want and need minutes of action and claim to play,” Germany’s general manager told Sport Bild.
As of today, Mané, Sané, Gnabry, Kingsley Coman, Eric Maxim Choupu-Moting and wantaway star striker Robert Lewandowski will compete for places in attack for Bayern.
“Bayern have great depth up front. I’m curious to see what happens,” Bierhoff said and continued:
“You have to assume that Sadio Mane, being a top transfer, is nailed on to start.
“Every player must be aware of this situation and decide for himself what is best for his own situation and development.”
