Max Eberl has been relieved of his duties as RB Leipzig managing director for sport amid reports linking him with Bayern Munich.
RB Leipzig have sacked Max Eberl as managing director for sport with immediate effect.
Eberl has been linked with the vacant position as Bayern Munich board member for sport ahead of RB Leipzig’s clash with the German champions on Saturday.
“RB Leipzig have relieved Max Eberl of his duties with immediate effect,” RB Leipzig said in a statement.
“His failure to commit to the club has led to us making this decision. It has nothing to do with the squad’s rebuild or results on the pitch.
“Sporting director Rouven Schröder will take over. We would like to thank Max for his work and wish him all the best for the future.”
