After four consecutive starts from the bench, Marco Reus returned to Borussia Dortmund’s starting line-up for last week’s Bundesliga clash with Wolfsburg, and the veteran made the most of his opportunity, scoring the winner in a 1-0 victory.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of Borussia Dortmund’s trip to Hoffenheim on Friday night, BVB coach Edin Terzic praised Reus for his return to form.
“We have always emphasized how important Marco is for us,” Terzic told reporters.
“He took his chance last week in an impressive manner. That’s how we want it, that’s how we all get better. We have to push ourselves to the limit every week.”
Terzic made a number of changes for the Wolfsburg game, including dropping captain Emre Can to the bench. And he wouldn’t confirm whether Can will be back in the starting lineup tomorrow.
“I’m not going to say if he’s going to play on Friday. All the press will know 60 minutes before the game,” Terzic said.
