Before joining RB Leipzig from RB Salzburg this summer, Benjamin Sesko was linked with a number of other big clubs, including Manchester United.

In an interview with Transfermarkt, the 20-year-old Slovenian striker was asked about the reported interest from Manchester United.

“The thing is, I was not really into that kind of conversation,” he said, adding:

“But I think, yeah, I think it was better just to come here.”

He went on to explain his decision to stay within the Red Bull system, becoming the 20th player to move from Salzburg to Leipzig.

“It was really important for me to go to a place that was playing a similar style of football,” Sesko told Transfermarkt, continuing:

“I already knew what to do and didn’t have to go through an entire learning process again.”

So far, 20-year-old Sesko has scored three goals in six appearances for RB Leipzig.
