Barcelona have announced a contract extension for Alejandro Balde. The young full-back has signed until June 2028 and has seen an increase in his contract and his termination clause.
Balde, 19, renewed his contract in the summer of 2021 until 2024 and the club priced his release clause at €500m, but his excellent performances at Barça this season and his role with the Spanish national team (he played in the 2022 World Cup), have led to a new deal.
World Cup with Spain
The Catalan left-back has become one of the outstanding young players in La Liga. As reported by Marca, he joined the club’s youth academy from Espanyol in 2011 at the age of eight and has made 40 appearances in all competitions, providing six assists.
At the Qatar World Cup, Luis Enrique called him up after Joe Gayà picked up an injury and he played for La Roja in four games at the tournament.
