Nottingham Forest set to sign Ibrahim Sangare from PSV Eindhoven

Nottingham Forest are seemingly on the verge of signing Ibrahim Sangare from PSV Eindhoven.

According to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, the English club have agreed a €30 million transfer fee plus add-ons for the 25-year-old.

The midfielder will reportedly pen a contract that will keep him at the City Ground until 2028.

The Ivorian’s signing represents a major coup for the Tricky Trees who barely managed to survive in the Premier League last season.

Sangare has been earning rave reviews with his performances in the Netherlands since he joined PSV in 2020.

He has made 140 appearances in all competitions for the Eredivisie side, with 15 goals to his name.

Last season, the 25-year-old posted 29 appearances in the Dutch top-flight, averaging an impressive 2.3 tackles, 0.8 interceptions and 1.6 clearances per game.

He also scored five goals and registered an assist, helping his side to a second-place finish ahead of Ajax.

His excellent performances sparked interest from some of the biggest European clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Liverpool.

But it looks Forest have won the race for the defensive midfielder, whose arrival will likely give them a huge boost in their quest for a strong Premier League finish this season.

Steve Cooper’s side have already signed Chris Wood, Ola Aina, Anthony Elanga, Matt Turner and Murillo in the 2023 transfer window.

Meanwhile, they also confirmed the loan signing of Nuno Tavares from Arsenal earlier today.
