Laurent Blanc: “I think Ernest Nuamah will officially be a Lyon player next week.”

Speaking after a 0-0 draw against OGC Nice, Olympique Lyonnais manager Laurent Blanc said that he expects Ernest Nuamah’s move to the club to be officialised next week.

As reported by L’Équipe, Nuamah has already undergone his medical with Lyon ahead of the move. Les Gones have also agreed terms with FC Nordsjaelland. The Ghanaian forward will join on loan with an obligation to make the move permanent next summer for €23m.

However, despite the deal being all but officialised, Nuamah wasn’t involved against Nice on Sunday. Post-match, however, Blanc confirmed that he expects Nuamah to be a Lyon player next week.

He’s already in Lyon. I think next week he’ll officially be a Lyon player. He is a player that will bring what he’s capable of bringing. He is a player with a lot of power. He is a young player, a very young player, but he also brings us a bit of competition. Bringing competition in every position is a good thing for everyone. The more competition, the better things will be,” said Blanc in a press conference attended by Get French Football News.
