Liverpool officially secured the services of 16-year-old midfielder Trey Nyoni, per Fabrizio Romano.
Nyoni’s arrival follows his departure from Leicester City as he embarks on a new chapter in his football journey within the Reds’ esteemed youth setup.
The budding football star has gained significant attention due to his impressive technical prowess.
The midfielder’s talent shines through as he was summoned to train with Leicester City’s U18 team towards the end of last year.
Nyoni shared his excitement about this new phase of his career on Instagram, expressing his gratitude to the players and staff at his former club who played a pivotal role in his development over the past decade.
His heartfelt message extended well wishes for the future success of the Leicester City community.
With 15 appearances and two goals for Leicester City’s U18 team last season, Nyoni has already demonstrated his capabilities on the field, playing in a higher age group.
He even played in the Premier League International Cup as part of Leicester’s Under-21 squad.
As a current England youth international, Nyoni has donned the national jersey for the Under-16s, showcasing his potential at the international level. Although, it is worth noting that he also retains Zimbabwean citizenship.
Liverpool’s history of nurturing emerging talents for the senior squad is an encouraging sign for Nyoni’s aspirations.
Recent success stories like Stefan Bajcetic, Trent-Alexander Arnold, Curtis Jones, Ben Doak, and Harvey Elliott have proven that manager Jurgen Klopp values and provides opportunities for young talents to thrive on the main stage.

As Nyoni steps onto the Anfield grounds, he will be eyeing a similar trajectory, aiming to leave an indelible mark on Liverpool’s football legacy.
Liverpool remain committed to developing the football stars of tomorrow, ensuring that the spirit of the club’s legacy lives on through the next generation of talents.
