Bayern Munich have today confirmed that Jamal Musiala has “sustained a muscle strain in his left hamstring” in training, and will therefore be sidelined for the foreseeable future.
A corresponding report by Kicker suggests that there could be a downtime of “several weeks” which would see Musiala miss Bayern Munich’s games against Augsburg and Borussia Mönchengladbach, while the 20-year-old playmaker could also miss out on Hansi Flick’s Germany squad for games against Japan and France.
After the international break, Bayern Munich will then play at home against Bayer Leverkusen on September 15, which could be a realistic return date for Musiala, who was Bayern Munich’s best player last season.
Bayern Munich also confirmed that French defender Benjamin Pavard was also absent from the Säbener Straße on Wednesday, but this was due to illness rather than anything transfer related, with Inter currently chasing his signature. Raphael Guerreiro completed a running session as he returned from injury, while Harry Kane was absent due to the birth of his fourth child.
