Marco Richter and Suat Serdar have left Hertha BSC to sign for Mainz and Hellas Verona, respectively.

Hertha BSC have announced the departures of Marco Richter and Suat Serdar.

Richter joins Mainz in the Bundesliga, while Serdar heads to Italy to play for Hellas Verona.

“The last two years have been eventful,” said Richter on his departure.

“I always enjoyed representing Hertha and playing in front of the fans, which is why our relegation is still a painful topic to me. I sincerely hope that Hertha are able to find their way back up soon.”

Serdar commented:

“I felt happy within the team and in Berlin and have got to know some special people. Unfortunately, the sporting side of things didn’t go exactly as we had hoped. I wish Hertha and the fans a successful season.”
