West Ham and PSG have positive discussions over Hugo Ekitiké transfer

Foot Mercato are reporting that West Ham United and Paris Saint-Germain have held positive discussions over a move for Hugo Ekitiké (21).

West Ham remain in the market for a forward, having lost Gianluca Scamacca earlier in the transfer window. The Hammers had been keen on a move for Elye Wahi, and despite talks, the France U21 international ultimately remained in Ligue 1, signing for RC Lens, with whom he will play Champions League football.

West Ham continue to look to Ligue 1 for their Scamacca replacement, and according to Foot Mercato, discussions over the transfer of Ekitiké have taken place. In his debut season at PSG, the France youth international struggled, scoring just three goals in 25 Ligue 1 appearances. RMC Sport reported earlier this month that Ekitiké has been told by Luis Enrique and Luis Campos that he is surplus to requirements, although he has still featured for Les Parisiens this season.

Talks between Campos and West Ham sporting director Tim Steidten took place on Monday, and those talks were reportedly positive. The Premier League side have also held discussions with the player’s representatives.
