Despite reaching an agreement for the transfer of Gabri Veiga, the situation between Napoli and Celta Vigo has changed dramatically in recent hours, report Relevo.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the operation is now at risk of breaking down due to a change in the conditions of the player’s contract.
Veiga was waiting for more details to be finalised before travelling to Naples to pass his medical. In the meantime, he was training with Celta and even played for Rafa Benítez’s side on the first day of the La Liga season.
Celta are counting on the sale of €36m, a fee already agreed with Napoli. The Balaídos outfit have several signings in the pipeline to strengthen their squad, with a goalkeeper and a striker the priority for the club.
In Italy they want the Galician midfielder to become one of the club’s marquee signings after lifting the Serie A title.
Everything pointed to a transfer that, for the moment, will have to wait.
