RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins is reporting that Aston Villa left-back Lucas Digne (30) is nearing an agreement to join OGC Nice.
The Frenchman features on Nice’s shortlist, as reported by RMC Sport earlier this week. The Riviera club are looking to strengthen at left-back this summer. Attempts were made to replace Melvin Bard last summer, but the club ultimately only ended up signing Joe Bryan on loan for Fulham. The English full-back was used sparingly over the course of his one-year loan.
However, the club have been engaged in more concentrated efforts to sign a left-back this summer. Nice are reported;y studying the option of a loan deal with an option to make the move permanent. Le Gym wouldn’t pay the Frenchman’s full salary, according to RMC Sport. However, an agreement between Digne is now reportedly close. The Frenchman started as Aston Villa beat Everton 4-0 in the Premier League on Sunday.
