According to Sky Sports News’ Dharmesh Sheth, Chelsea are interested in a move for Arsenal forward Folarin Balogun. No formal bid has been made by the Blues but the interest is understood to be ‘real’.
Monaco have targeted Folarin Balogun as their key striker target for the summer window following the long-term injury suffered by Swiss international Breel Embolo. Lés Monegasques have already had a £40m bid rejected by Arsenal for the US international striker. However, they are still interested in bringing the former Reims loanee back to Ligue 1 and are expected to make a new offer soon.
Chelsea’s interest in Balogun has arisen after Elye Wahi told the club he was unconvinced by the club’s project and therefore didn’t want to sign for the club. Mauricio Pochettino is targetting reinforcements in forward areas following Olise turning down the opportunity to move to Stamford Bridge and Christopher Nkunku’s long-term injury.
Sources contacted by Get French Football News on Friday night confirmed that whilst Chelsea have had preliminary contact with the player, there has been no concrete action taken by CFC to date.
