Everton have reportedly revived their interest in Southampton forward Che Adams.
According to BBC Sport, the Toffees are negotiating a £12 million deal to bring the 27-year-old to Goodison Park.
They were linked with an interest in the forward last summer but a move didn’t materialise due to the Saints’ huge transfer demands.
The Merseyside club ended up signing Neal Maupay from Brighton & Hove Albion but the Frenchman has massively struggled to produce goals.
He managed to find the back of the net only once in 27 Premier League appearances last season.
Everton have revived their interest in Che Adams to bolster their attack for the 2023-24 season.
But they face competition from Crystal Palace who are also keen on him.
The Scotland international isn’t a prolific goalscorer but he is viewed as a more effective all-round player than Maupay who will be very suitable to play the lone striker role.
The 27-year-old landed a move to Southampton in 2019 after impressing with his displays at Birmingham City.
He made a slow start to life in Hampshire but went on to establish himself as a key member of the first-team.
In the last four years, Adams has clocked up 125 Premier League appearances, registering 27 goals in the process.
He also netted five goals in 28 top-flight appearances last season as the Saints suffered relegation to the second-tier.
The forward has now made a flying start in the Championship, scoring goals in their opening two matches against Sheffield Wednesday and Norwich City.
