Atalanta defender Merih Demiral is now close to sealing a move to Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli.
Demiral was said to be likely to depart La Dea this summer and he had not trained with the club’s squad in pre-season as he was out of the project. Inter were linked with a move and Demiral seemed keen.
Fabrizio Romano has now reported that the Nerazzurri have missed out and Al Ahli have sealed a move for Demiral. They have agreed a fee with Atalanta for the Turk, who has also agreed personal terms with the Middle East side. Two Premier League sides were keen on the defender, but Al Ahli have agreed a deal on the same sort of financials that were offered by English sides.
Al Ahli are also close to sealing a move for Napoli’s Piotr Zielinski, who initially had doubts about the move but he has now given his approval to the switch.
