RMC report this afternoon that Beşiktaş are looking to sign Ivorian international Nicolas Pépé from Arsenal, with the forward having returned to North London after a middling loan spell back in France with Nice.
With his contract expiring at the end of next season, it appeared unlikely that last season’s Premier League runners-up would look to bring their record signing back into the fray this summer.
The Istanbul outfit have made a three-year contract proposal to Pépé, who is considering the offer. Although Arsenal were initially open to letting the player leave without a transfer fee, their position has recently changed, as they look to recoup at least a small fraction of the €80m they initially paid Lille back in 2019.
In three seasons at Arsenal, Pépé scored 27 goals in 112 appearances, and won the FA Cup in 2020. He also found the net eight times during his loan spell with Les Aiglons this past campaign.
