Sky Germany reports that PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ibrahim Sangaré is not a target for Bayern Munich as they continue their search for a number six.
Sangaré is considered an interesting player at Bayern but they have yet to hold any form of talks or negotiations with the midfielder or PSV. Reports from the Netherlands suggest that the Ivorian has a release clause in his contract worth €37.5m and PSV are ready to let the midfielder leave to which every club activates the release clause.
Liverpool are also said to be interested in the 25-year-old as they face a similar issue to Bayern and lack a midfielder who can play as a number six.
Bayern’s need for a more defensive-minded midfielder was shown as they opened their season with a 3-0 loss to RB Leipzig in the DFL Super Cup. Bayern started with Joshua Kimmich and Konrad Laimer in midfield but the pair left Bayern’s defence wide open and vulnerable to the Leipzig attacks. If Bayern wish to challenge for the Champions League then this issue will need to be resolved before the window closes at the end of the month.
