Roma midfielder Nemanja Matić is edging closer to departing the Giallorossi this summer, with Rennes interested.
The Serbian had joined Roma last summer on a free transfer after his contract at Manchester United had run out and he had left the club after having worked with Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.
La Repubblica (via TMW) now state that after one season at the Stadio Olimpico, Matić is edging close to a move to Rennes. Roma are ready to bid farewell to the Serbian and the expectation is that his exit could be formalised by the club soon enough. It was previously reported that the midfielder would be interested in a move to the Ligue 1 side, with Roma also pondering the player’s future.
But Roma could soon seal a move for Leandro Paredes, as a general agreement has been reached for the midfielder, who struggled at Juventus last season in a loan deal. The Argentine has already given his approval to the move, which could see him return to his former club.
