Serie A champions Napoli continue to make attempts to strenghen their squad and have now made a new attempt to sign Celta Vigo’s Gabri Veiga.
The Partenopei had made an initial offer to the Spanish side for the playmaker and Fabrizio Romano has now reported that a new bid has been lodged by the Scudetto winners. Their previous bid was at €30 million and it was rejected by Celta Vigo on Monday.
The new bid is at about €33 million and that includes add-ons from the Partenopei, with talks ongoing between the two clubs in an attempt to reach an agreement. The 21-year-old has already agreed personal terms to join Napoli and he remains keen on the move to the Maradona this summer.
Piotr Zielinski has been linked with a move away from Napoli and Veiga could come in as a replacement for the Pole, who could yet end up at Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli.
