Serie A side Roma are currently keen on keeping midfielder Nemanja Matić at the club this summer.
The Serbian had joined the Giallorossi on a free transfer last summer after his exit from Manchester United, where his contract had expired. A year on, the midfielder has been linked with a move to Ligue 1 side Rennes.
Gianluca di Marzio has now reported that despite the links with a move to Rennes, no contact has taken place between the two sides. While the player would be interested in the switch to the French side and would like the move, but there has been no talks involving Rennes and Roma.
As things stand, the Giallorossi want to keep him at the club even if he arrived on a free transfer and Roma would make a capital profit, if he does leave. Matić has been a keen servant of Jose Mourinho and it seems likely that they will work together next season.
