With a goal and assist in Bayern Munich’s final dress rehearsal ahead of the DFL Supercup against RB Leipzig on Saturday, Jamal Musiala believes he has more goal contributions to offer this season.
Musiala played the first 45 minutes against AS Monaco on Monday evening and assisting Konrad Laimer to make it 1-1 before finding the net to give Bayern Munich a lead heading into the break, the 20-year-old believes that he can go a level higher this season.
“I want to remain consistent throughout the year,” said Musiala. “I’ve scored a lot of goals and assists but I think I can get a little better there. I think I can with my whole game – what the coaches tell me – and go one level higher. I do everything to ensure that I can always deliver.”
Musiala finished the 2022/23 season with 32 goal contributions (16 goals, 16 assists) in 47 games across all competitions for Bayern Munich last season. Finishing the season as Bayern’s top scorer, Musiala had a phenomenal start to the Bundesliga season with nine goals and seven assists in the Rekordmeister’s first 15 league games, of which Musiala played in 14 of them.
With an injury to Thomas Müller, Musiala is almost likely to start for Bayern Munich against RB Leipzig on Saturday.
