VfB Stuttgart have rejected a second bid for Hiroki Ito from Ajax, according to De Telegraaf and Sky Germany.
The Dutch record champions reportedly increased their offer by €3 million to €15 million, but to no avail.
“Offers that come to us remain internal, of course. But obviously someone has been talking. We have said very clearly that we do not want to sell Ito. And there is no new information,” VfB Stuttgart CEO Alexander Wehrle told Sky.
He added that VfB are fully committed to keeping the Japanese defender beyond the summer.
“That is our wish and our goal. He has a contract until 2026 and no release clause.”
Ito himself, however, appears to be keen on a move, with Sky reporting that he has already reached a verbal agreement with Ajax.
