Contrary to Italian reports, Milan have no interest in Hoffenheim defender Ozan Kabak (23).
That’s according to Kicker who state that although Hoffenheim have an oversupply in central-defenders following the arrival of Attila Szalai, Milan’s suggested interest in Kabak is nothing more than a rumour.
This comes after Matteo Gabbia joined Villarreal on loan while former Wolfsburg defender Simon Kjaer could also depart Milan this month. In addition to Kabak, La Repubblica’s report also claims that Milan are interested in signing Barcelona’s Clement Lenglet but state that the former would be cheaper.
Kicker note that with Malick Thiaw, Fikayo Tomori and Pierre Kalulu, Kabak would find it difficult to make the starting XI at Milan despite strong performances for Hoffenheim in the early stages of last season. Of his 30 Bundesliga games last season, Kabak started 28 at the Sinsheim club.
It’s been a relatively quiet transfer window for Hoffenheim despite the departure of Christoph Baumgartner to RB Leipzig for €24m. Florian Grillitsch returned on a free transfer while Julian Justvan and Marius Bülter were signed for a combined €4.5m prior to the arrival of Szalai for €12.3m.
