Paris Saint-Germain have reached a total agreement with Benfica over the signing of Goncalo Ramos, reports Fabrizio Romano.
Whilst the personal terms with the Portuguese international were agreed last week, PSG have now finalised the transfer fee with Benfica.
Romano details that the package will cost Les Parisiens worth €80 million, out of which €65 million will be a straight fee and €15m in add-ons.
Ramos will join PSG initially on loan, and his transfer is expected to be made permanent in 2024 amid concerns over FFP regulations.
Medical tests have also been scheduled for next week.
PSG were linked with a host of strikers, including Victor Osimhen, Rasmus Hojlund and Harry Kane, and the French giants have gone with Ramos.
If the deal goes through, the 22-year-old will eclipse Edinson Cavani as PSG’s third most expensive signing, only behind Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
Ramos enjoyed a quick rise to prominence following an eye-catching breakout campaign with Benfica last season, where he bagged 27 goals and 12 assists in all competitions.
On top of that, he gained further popularity after scoring a hat-trick against Switzerland in the World Cup 2022, thereby strengthening his status as one of the best strikers in Europe.
PSG have long been tracking Ramos, with his compatriot and the club’s footballing advisor, Luis Campos, an admirer of his potential.
Les Parisiens’ excellent relationship with Ramos’ agent Jorge Mendes has proved key, with the Portuguese superagent previously brokering the deals of Renato Sanches, Vitinha, Manuel Ugarte and Marco Asensio to the French capital.
Besides Ramos, Les Parisiens have agreed a deal for Ousmane Dembele and are also working on the transfer of Eintracht Frankfurt forward Randal Kolo Muani, meaning the French giants are preparing for a life without Kylian Mbappe, whose future at Parc des Princes is hanging by a thread.
