AS Monaco have completed the signing of Mohammed Salisu (24) from Southampton. The Ghanaian international has signed a five-year deal with the Principality club.

Monaco have been in the market for centre-backs this summer. Benoît Badiashile left the club in January and wasn’t replaced. It was expected that Axel Disasi would leave the club, and that now looks to have come to pass. The France international has completed his Chelsea medical and is set to sign for the Premier League side imminently. Chrislain Matsima has also been strongly linked with a departure from the Principality club.

Salisu joins from a relegated Southampton side for a rumoured fee of €15m. During his time with the Saints, he featured 80 times, including 68 appearances in the Premier League. Another centre-back is likely to arrive at Monaco this summer. Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo has been strongly linked, and according to L’Équipe, the Englishman has already agreed personal terms.
