PSG re-enter the race to sign Tottenham target Randal Kolo Muani

Paris Saint-Germain have resurfaced as a strong contender to acquire the services of Eintracht Frankfurt star Randal Kolo Muani.

According to Sky Germany, the French giants are back in the race for the 24-year-old forward, with concrete talks now underway.

However, the Parisians have not made a bid for the striker. Instead, they are focusing on establishing a verbal agreement on personal terms with Kolo Muani before formally approaching Eintracht Frankfurt with an offer.

The stumbling block in this potential transfer is the hefty price tag set by the German club’s sporting director, Markus Krosche, who demands upwards of €100 million for the Frenchman’s signature.

The massive fee could be daunting, and the deal’s realisation might also hinge on the outcome of Kylian Mbappe’s uncertain future.

Mbappe could leave PSG this summer and that exit holds the key to Kolo Muani’s prospective arrival.

If Mbappe departs, PSG will view Kolo Muani as the ideal replacement.

They will fancy their chances of securing the forward’s signature over Tottenham Hotspur, who have been eyeing the French star. The Premier League side wants the former Nantes attacker to replace Harry Kane.

Interestingly, PSG had previously placed Kane atop their striking shortlist but have now backed down, leaving Bayern Munich in the lead for the Englishman.

Kolo Muani broke through last season with Die Adler, notching 23 goals and 17 assists in 46 appearances. He also became a French international and was part of their squad at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, where he scored once.

For Eintracht Frankfurt, selling Kolo Muani will be a lucrative deal. Having signed the forward on a free transfer just last summer, the Eagles stand to make a massive profit from his potential departure.

However, the club remains confident in their ability to retain Kolo Muani for at least another season in the Bundesliga as they continue to find a suitable successor.
