Fabrizio Romano reports that Bayern Munich are now focusing on signing Brentford goalkeeper David Raya to play as backup to Manuel Neuer.
Bayern have held talks with several other goalkeepers but they are now 100% focused on the Spaniard. The record champions want a new goalkeeper by the end of next week as it will then allow Yann Sommer to join Inter Milan.
Bayern will now try to find a way for Raya to join the club. It has previously been reported that Raya could join Bayern on loan as he enters the final year of his contract at Brentford. However, Brentford seems to be prepared to lose the 27-year-old on a free transfer next summer as they will keep the goalkeeper if their valuation is not met.
Raya has been number one at Brentford since joining from Blackburn in 2019 for €3.35m but it is likely that the 27-year-old will lose his place to former Freiburg goalkeeper Mark Flekken next season, after Raya has previously made it clear he would like to leave the London club.
