Mane leaves Bayern pre-season to complete Al Nassr deal next week

Bayern Munich forward Sadio Mane is reportedly very close to joining Saudi side Al Nassr.

The Bundesliga club confirmed yesterday the 31-year-old was left out of their squad for the pre-season game against Kawasaki Frontale as he is negotiating over an exit.

According to reputed journalist Florian Plettenberg, Mane is scheduled to undergo a medical in Dubai that will probably start on Monday.

It is said that he will likely pen a contract until 2027 with the Saudi Arabian club. His salary will be more than €40 million per year.

The Senegalese joined Bayern last summer in a €32m move from Liverpool. But he failed to make a huge impact at the Allianz Arena due to inconsistent form, fitness issues and dressing room clash with Leroy Sane.

In 38 appearances across all competitions, the experienced forward could only score 12 and create six goals.

Now he is set to join Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr to play in the Saudi Pro League.

Wrapping up a deal for Mane would give the Bavarians a boost in their pursuit for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.

The 29-year-old is their number one target this summer but they have had two bids rejected from the Lilywhites so far.

Bayern will reportedly meet Daniel Levy next week as they aim to persuade the Spurs chairman to let Kane leave in this transfer window.

It is said that they are ready to offer up to a whopping €100m to seal a deal for the England ace.
