After a difficult 2022/23 season, Alassane Pléa seems to have decided to remain at Borussia Mönchengladbach.
“Last season was very complicated and I thought a lot about how to continue. Then I sat down with [sporting CEO] Roland Virkus and [director of professional football] Steffen Korell and the talks were very positive. I got good answers to my questions,” said Pléa in an interview with Rheinische Post.
“It’s true that there are big changes here. A lot of experienced players have left, so it’s a bit of a new start. I’m one of the older players and I have to set a good example, especially for the younger players. I’m ready to take on that responsibility.”
The 30-year-old Frenchman extended his contract until 2025 last August.
