Sky Germany reports that Wolfsburg have reached an agreement with Stade Rennes’ Lovro Majer and are also interested in Udinese midfielder Lazar Samardžić, but both could prove to be too expensive for the club.
It is reported that an agreement between Wolfsburg and Majer has been reached but the asking price for the midfielder could prove a hurdle in completing the deal. Rennes are demanding €25m for the 25-year-old and as his contract at the club does not expire until 2027, it will be challenging for Wolfsburg to negotiate the price down to something affordable.
Another midfielder that Wolfsburg are interested in is Samardžić. Udinese demand at least €20m for the midfielder who formally played for RB Leipzig.
The asking price for the midfielder is once again deemed a lot of money for Wolfsburg. Inter Milan, AC Milan, Napoli, Roma and Atletico Madrid have also shown interest in Samardžić, all clubs who could easily outbid Wolfsburg for the 21-year-old.
