Fulham in advanced talks to sign Chelsea’s Hudson-Odoi

Fulham are closing in on the signing of Chelsea attacker Callum Hudson-Odoi, according to Sky Sports.

They are still apart in their valuation, but talks are in the advanced stage, and the feeling is that the deal with go through.

Hudson-Odoi has demanded to leave Chelsea after finding himself surplus to requirements at the club. He is waiting on a move to the Cottagers, where he will hope to rekindle his promising career.

The 22-year-old had emerged as one of the brighter talents in Chelsea’s academy circa 2017 and made his senior team debut under Antonio Conte.

However, it was under Maurizio Sarri that he broke out. He first impressed in pre-season, but the Italian manager made him wait till later in the season before giving him his shot at competitive games.

Then Bayern Munich came calling. The Bavarian giants were keen on Hudson-Odoi. Bayern offered up to £40 million, but the Blues rejected the proposal.

However, a long-term injury would halt his progress. He signed a new contract with the West London side but struggled to nail down a starting spot under subsequent managers.

Hudson-Odoi went on loan to Bayer Leverkusen last season, but the spell left much to be desired. Die Werkself decided not to make the loan a permanent signing.

The three-cap England international wants to leave Chelsea for their London rivals Fulham.

Former Chelsea teammate and now Fulham attacker Willian has urged Hudson-Odoi to join him at Craven Cottage.

Fulham could make him their second summer signing after securing the signature of Raul Jimenez, who joined from Wolverhampton Wanderers for £5.5 million.

Also, Fulham have deals lined up to sign Mohammed Salisu and Calvin Bassey, although they will have to choose between one of the two.

Today, Fulham reportedly received a £5 million bid from AS Monaco for defender Tosin Adarabioyo.

Adarabioyo is a top target for the Principality Club as they look to reinforce their defence ahead of next season.
