Cavani brother provides update on Valencia contract termination

Christian Cavani, relative to Edinson Cavani, has provided an update on his brother’s ongoing contract termination saga with Valencia.

The experienced Uruguayan striker is determined to sever ties with the La Liga side this summer despite having one year left on his contract.

Cavani is said to be disappointed with his treatment at the Mestalla Stadium and wants to leave Valencia just 12 months after joining from Manchester United on a free transfer.

Cavani’s brother is convinced the former Paris Saint-Germain striker has his next move mapped out amid reports of a return to South America.

Argentine giants Boca Juniors are reportedly determined to land Cavani’s signature, but the move depends on the player terminating his contract with Valencia.

Cavani’s brother claims negotiation between the striker and Valencia over the contract issue is being resolved while revealing his desire to see the former Napoli man join Boca this summer.

“The termination of the contract with Valencia is being fixed,” said Cavani’s brother (via TyC Sports). 

“Although we want it to be done quickly, we’ll see how the Valencia thing ends and if he reaches an agreement with Boca.

“I have a good feeling that his arrival in Boca will be achieved. This time is different from the others. His return to South America is all more on track. 

“Boca has a lot of history. I dream of seeing him with the shirt. I want him to arrive as much as the people who write to me. I’ve said it to him. I love that idea.”

Cavani already has an agreement in principle with the South American club. All that remains is to finalise his contract termination with Valencia, with Boca reluctant to spend a dime on transfer fees.

Cavani made 28 appearances across all competitions last term, registering seven goals and two assists as Valencia finished just two points above the relegation zone.
