Benfica’s young striker Goncalo Ramos is destined to leave the Portuguese giants this summer, as per a report from Diario AS.
The 22-year-old has enjoyed a stellar rise to prominence following an eye-catching 2022/23 campaign.
The Portuguese striker racked up a total of 27 goals and 12 assists across all competitions for Benfica, and the most defining moment was his sensational hat-trick against Switzerland in the 2022 World Cup.
With his name being felt across Europe as one of the best young footballers, a handful of suitors are on his trail.
Given his demand and a contract running until 2025, Benfica will be looking to extract a hefty fee as they previously did with players like Joao Felix and Enzo Fernandez.
As far as the suitors are concerned, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are all in the market for a new striker and have Ramos’ name on their list.
Man Utd are currently focused on a deal for Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund, who has been earmarked as a top striker target this summer.
Erik ten Hag’s side have been locked in talks over the transfer of the Danish striker, so the odds are less for them to sign Ramos.
Tottenham would have to delve into the market for a new centre-forward should Harry Kane part ways with the club this summer amid heavy interest from Bayern Munich.
The Bavarians are hellbent on luring the English international to Germany, while the talisman striker is also open to the move in the quest for a new challenge.
Kane’s transfer would entail a large sum of money, and Spurs can easily reinvest in his replacement.
In addition to Ramos, the Lilywhites are considering a move for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani.
PSG looks as the most fitting destination for Ramos as they have the financial sources to pull off such a big-money move.
There is also a pressing need for a new prolific goalscorer following the exit of Lionel Messi, while Kylian Mbappe could follow suit amid mounting speculation.
Les Parisiens also hold the edge over others due to their strong ties with Ramos’ agent Jorge Mendes, who brokered Manuel Ugarte’s move to the French capital earlier this summer.
PSG have been keeping close tabs on Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Kane, however, both are out of their reach now.
