AC Milan set to sign Noah Okafor from RB Salzburg

Serie A giants AC Milan are closing in on the signing of RB Salzburg attacker Noah Okafor, according to Fabrizio Romano.

They will pay around €15 million to secure the services of the Switzerland international.

Okafor is an all-round centre-forward with 34 goals and 23 assists in 110 games for Salzburg since joining them from Swiss side FC Basel in 2019.

The striker of Nigerian heritage came up through Basel’s academy before debuting for the first team in 2018.

Milan know him well after facing him last season in the Champions League group stage, where he impressed.

Milan have finally added a new striker to their roster, and they may not be through revamping their forward line.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic retired at the end of last season, and they need a replacement for him. They have also decided to sell Divock Origi after a disappointing spell in Italy.

They might need to sign more than one striker this window.

Milan have been linked with many names like Romelu Lukaku, Alvaro Morata, Mehdi Taremi, and Folarin Balogun. They could return to that list to find another striker.

Milan are also reportedly closing in on Villareal attacker Samuel Chukwueze. The Nigerian international is their top target for the right-wing position.

They have been trying to get Villarreal to lower their asking price, and it appears a deal is close to completion.

And then, they will turn to Valencia’s Yunus Musah. They want the American international, but Valencia owner Peter Lim is not letting his prized asset go for cheap.

Milan have been proactive in the transfer market so far. They have signed Marco Sportiello, Christian Pulisic, Luka Romero, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Tijjani Reijnders.

Okafor looks like signing number six as the Rossoneri look to challenge for the Serie A title after a disappointing defence last season.
