Manchester United and Inter Milan agree €55m transfer fee for Andre Onana

Manchester United have finally reached an agreement with Inter Milan over the transfer fee for Andre Onana.

The Athletic report the two clubs have agreed an initial €51 million fee plus €4m in add-ons for the signing of the Cameroonian.

Personal terms are not thought to be an issue, and the former Ajax star is set to sign a long-term contract to 2028 at Old Trafford.

He will replace David de Gea as the club’s first choice goalkeeper, with the Spaniard’s contract expiring in June.

However, it remains to be seen how Onana will complete his medical. He could fly to Manchester for his tests or he may complete his medical elsewhere.

United will hope to wrap up a deal quickly so the goalkeeper could be part of Erik ten Hag’s squad that will leave for the pre-season tour of the United States on Wednesday.

The Red Devils will take on Lyon tomorrow in Edinburgh before jetting off to the US where they will meet Arsenal, Wrexham, Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund in an exciting list of pre-season fixtures.

Manchester United spent €64m to sign Mason Mount from Chelsea earlier in this transfer window.

They are now close to completing a move for Onana who could prove to be a fantastic signing.

The 27-year-old knows Erik ten Hag very well, having worked with the Dutch boss for three years at Ajax.

Man Utd are also looking to sign a striker with Atalanta’s Rasmus Højlund said to be on their radar.
