PSG relationship with Spurs and Daniel Levy central to €116m Harry Kane talks

L’Équipe report that PSG, having seemingly given up on Victor Osimhen after two huge nine-figure offers, are continuing to pursue Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

Key to any deal between the two clubs is a healthy relationship between their two presidents, says the sports daily. Spurs chairman Daniel Levy and PSG chief Nasser Al-Khelaifi are on good terms and speak regularly about their clubs, with Kane’s situation being a key topic of discussion.

Kane, who will turn 30 this month, has just one year left on his current contract with his boyhood club and it seems unlikely that he will agree to a new deal despite Levy’s continued attempts. Kane enjoyed a standout season personally, scoring 30 times in 38 league games, but Spurs could only finish eighth in England and will not play in Europe next season.

Spurs have already received two offers from Bayern Munich but will not sell for less than €116m. Although Al-Khelaïfi has no intention to push the player to leave due to his respect for Levy, if Kane refuses a new contract, PSG plan to swoop. Kane may be difficult to convince, however, as the striker is reportedly not excited about playing in Ligue 1.
