Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano made plenty of waves on social media not long ago when he reported that – after Manchester City defender Kyle Walker completes his move to FC Bayern München – want-away Bayern defender Benjamin Pavard could be headed in the other direction. The sensational prospect of a swap deal is nevertheless not confirmed by any German footballing media sources at this juncture.
About all that German sources such as Kicker Magazine and Florian Plettenberg can attest to at this point is that Pavard (as has been known for quite some time) is more than amenable to leaving Bayern. Plettenberg pumps the brakes on much of the speculation by noting that the Frenchman does have other options.
Romano claims that Man City and Pavard have already entered negotiations. This cannot be independently corroborated. Matters might become interesting yet, but such a reciprocal deal would have to involve some rather lengthy negotiations between the two clubs as well.
❗️News #Pavard: Yes, @ManCity is a serious option for him as #Guardiola likes him and his versatility a lot! First call about #MCFC: @FabrizioRomano.
But: Pavard has more concrete options as he definitely wants to leave Bayern now.
