Gosens confirms he turned down interest from Leverkusen

Union Berlin have been linked with a move for Inter and Germany defender Robin Gosens, but it looks like the transfer won’t happen.

According to La Gazetta dello Sport, Union have cooled their interest, as Inter weren’t willing to include a purchase obligation in the loan deal.

According to the report, the Italian Serie A side were looking for around €15 million for the 28-year-old – a fee Union can’t and don’t want to pay despite qualifying for the Champions League.

However, even though a move to Union Berlin seems to be off, a return to Germany is apparently not out of the question for Gosens.

According to La Gazetta dello Sport, Wolfsburg have re-established contact with Gosens’ camp after first being linked with the left-back last year.

Gosens’ contract with Inter runs until 2026.
