As reported by Sport Bild, Union Berlin are considering a loan move for Chelsea youngster David Datro Fofana.
The 20-year-old forward is highly rated at Chelsea despite only playing a total of 68 minutes since his move last January. Fofana moved from Norwegian side Molde FK during the winter transfer window for €12m, signing a contract until 2029.
The Ivorian international is certainly in need of playing time during the upcoming season. A move to the Champions League side, Union, could be the ideal move. The Irons are renowned for giving youngsters the chance to play. As we’ve seen with Union over the past few seasons, they are often rewarded due to this ethos.
Having just sold Sven Michel to Augsburg and the possibility of Sheraldo Becker leaving the club, Fofana could fit straight into the match-day squad.
Having just changed agency, Becker is eyeing up a move to the Premier League. West Ham United, Fulham, and Burnley are keeping tabs on Becker who could leave for around €20m.
