According to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Burnely are stepping up their interest in Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Jean Butez (28) and are set to make a bid for the Frenchman in the coming days.
As initially reported by L’Équipe, newly-promoted Burnley, as well as La Liga side Villareal, have shown an interest in Butez, who has concluded a successful season in Belgium, where he won the title with Antwerp. Nice-Matin have also reported that AS Monaco are interested in the Frenchman as a replacement for Alexander Nübel, who after a two-year loan with the Principality club, has returned to parent club Bayern Munich.
However, Burnley are looking to beat the competition and are stepping up their advances. The Premier League side will make a bid in the coming days, whilst Butez himself is keen on a move to Turf Moor. Burnley are keen to find an agreement with Antwerp for Butez, but should they fail to do so, they have identified Copenhagen’s Kamil Grabara (24) as an alternative option.
