According to L’Équipe, Racing Club de Strasbourg have set their sights on signing Chelsea forward Datro Fofana (20) following the conclusion of a takeover by BlueCo – the current owners of the Premier League side.
Strasbourg’s director of recruitment Loïc Désiré has reportedly been already monitoring the progress of the 20-year old Ivory Coast attacker. A move for a loan deal could potentially be in the works.
Fofana moved to Chelsea from Norway side Molde in January 2023 for a fee of €12m, but has since only made three appearances in the Premier League, with one outing in the FA Cup.
American investment firm Clearlake Capital last night reached an agreement on the takeover of Strasbourg, in a move which sees the firm set up a multi-ownership model in Europe. Strasbourg president Marc Keller will remain at the club, with the Alsatians financial means expected to dramatically increase.
