Antoine Griezmann: “I like seeing my son’s dance moves after I score.”

Antoine Griezmann (32) spoke to the press ahead of France’s Euro 2024 qualifier against Greece at the Stade de France, and was asked about whether he valued highest the goals he scored for Les Bleus, or his record-breaking amount of assists for his national side.

“I like scoring goals for my son because I like seeing his celebrations with dance moves afterwards,” began the Atletico Madrid man. “As a player and teammate, its going to be the assists. I like talking about those and how they help the team.”

For Les Bleus, Griezmann has scored 43 goals – but is the leading assist provider (36). His change of role within the national side has somewhat swayed the balance of his stats for Les Bleus. “I try to be the most complete player, whether as a 10 or an 8. We will see tomorrow depending on the opposition and what the team needs.”

After his return to Atletico Madrid, Griezmann has participated in 38 matches in the La Liga and has successfully netted 15 goals in domestic competitions. He was honoured with the title of the top French player performing abroad at the Get French Football News end-of-season awards.
