Tottenham Hotspur confirm signing Dejan Kulusevski on permanent deal

Tottenham Hotspur have announced the signing of Dejan Kulusevski on a permanent deal from Juventus. 

The 23-year-old has been impressive in North London since joining the club on an 18-month loan in January last year. 

So far, he has made 57 appearances across all competitions for Spurs, with 23 goal contributions to his name. 

His impressive displays have convinced the Lilywhites to sign him on a five-year deal for a £25 million fee, which is lesser than his £29.2m release clause. 

Spurs endured a disappointing 2022-23 campaign, finishing a lowly eighth in the Premier League table to miss out on any form of European football. 

Manager Antonio Conte left in acrimonious circumstances in March, with the club placing Cristian Stellini in temporary charge. 

But a massive slump in form saw the Italian being replaced by Ryan Mason, who ultimately also failed to revive the fortunes of the club. 

Kulusevski was one of the few stars who impressed with his performances last campaign. 

The 23-year-old missed the entire month of October due to injury but he still played 30 Premier League matches, scoring twice and contributing seven assists. 

The Sweden international mainly plays as a attacking midfielder but he can also be used as a winger, a number 10 or a false nine. 

He averaged 1.4 shots, 1.6 key passes and 1.7 dribbles per game in the English top-flight, boasting over 82 percent passing accuracy. 

Signing a player like Kulusevski for only £25m represents a major coup for Spurs who will be aiming to do well in the domestic competitions next term.
