Pierre-Emile Højbjerg is being touted as an option in Bayern’s search for a defensive midfielder.
Bayern Munich are reportedly considering a move for Tottenham Hotspur’s Pierre-Emile Højbjerg.
Højbjerg, who came through the Bayern youth ranks, is being discussed as an option with the German champions looking to strengthen in midfield, according to Bild.
Having already missed out on Declan Rise and Moises Caicedo, Bayern are looking for alternatives and Højbjerg is apparently seen as one, although he’s not a traditional number six.
Højbjerg, 27, joined Bayern from Brøndby as a youth player in 2012 and went on to make 25 appearances for the senior side.
After loan spells at Augsburg and Schalke 04, he joined Southampton and later Tottenham, where he has been a regular in central midfield for years.
His contract expires in 2025.
