Bayern Munich have handed academy product Tarek Buchmann his first professional contract.

The 18-year-old defender has put pen to paper to sign a contract with the Bavarians until 2026.

“We are delighted to be able to bring Tarek Buchmann, a promising young player from our FC Bayern Campus, closer to our first team,” said Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen.

“He has developed very well over the past few years and now gets the chance to take the next step with us.”

Tarek Buchmann, who will join the club from Augsburg in 2019, said:

“It is a great honor for me to sign my first professional contract with FC Bayern. I know what a privilege it is to play for this club. The club has always supported me in the best way. I feel a great deal of trust.

“At the same time, I see it as my first duty to continue working hard on myself. I want to take my chance in every training session and every match to go on a successful journey with FC Bayern.
