Official | Pierre Aristouy to remain as Nantes manager

FC Nantes have announced that Pierre Aristouy will remain as manager of the club, having guided them to Ligue 1 safety last season.

Aristouy took over from Antoine Kombouaré for the final four games of the league season, and thanks to a final-day victory over already-relegated SCO Angers, secured Les Canaris’ spot in the top-flight for next season. The caretaker manager has now been rewarded for that feat and has earned a new contract with the club that will run until 2025.

His appointment was expected after the club’s president, Waldemar Kita, expressed a desire to keep him beyond the end of the season. The former Nantes U19 manager doesn’t possess the necessary qualifications to manage Nantes, and like Will Still at Stade de Reims, will be forced to pay a €25,000 fine in each of their Ligue 1 matches.

He will be joined by Alain Pochat (assistant manager), Julien Le Pape and Teddy Pellerin (physios) and Willy Grondin (goalkeeper coach), whilst another assistant is also expected to be hired.
