Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund interested in PSG’s Warren Zaïre-Emery

RMC Sport are reporting that Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund are interested in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Warren Zaïre-Emery (17), whose future at the club is linked to the game time that he receives.

The French publication reported yesterday that Manchester City asked for Zaïre-Emery to be included in an exchange deal for Bernardo Silva (28), who is one of PSG’s priority signings this summer. Pep Guardiola is a huge fan of the player, but PSG rejected the request, and have instead previously offered Gianluigi Donnarumma (24) and Marco Verratti (30) in exchange for the Manchester City midfielder.

Whilst PSG rejected the offer for the academy product, who they deem untransferable, RMC also report that no negotiations over a contract renewal for Zaïre-Emery have begun. The France youth international has two years left on his current deal but isn’t guaranteed to sign an extension at his boyhood club.

Zaïre-Emery is wary of the importance of game time in order to develop, and if he believes he is not getting the necessary game time in order to progress, he may not extend his deal. PSG look set to add Manuel Ugarte to the mix, whilst there is already plenty of competition in Les Parisiens’ midfield.

Many clubs are attentive to the situation, notably Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool. The former are looking to replace Jude Bellingham, who has joined Real Madrid, whilst the latter are reportedly “very interested” in Zaïre-Emery.
