Clemens Fritz has responded to speculation surrounding the future of Mitchell Weiser, stating that the club are in talks with the right-back’s representatives.

Werder Bremen head of first-team football Clemens Fritz has insisted that the club want to keep Mitchell Weiser at the club.
“We are in talks with his agency and have made our position clear: We want to keep Mitchell,” he told Deichstube.
It’s been reported that Weiser has a release clause of just €3 million, sparking speculation that the right-back could leave the Green and Whites.
However, according to Deichstube, the clause must be activated before tomorrow, Thursday, when it expires.
Weiser’s contract expires in 2024.
