Rennes are showing interest in pursuing a move for Nantes forward Ludovic Blas, according to a report from RMC Sport. Blas was arguably been Les Canaris‘ overall best player last season, registering 12 goals and eight assists in 51 games played in all competitions. The former Guingamp player, whose contract expires in 2024, is expected to leave the Loire-Atlantique side this summer. Last year, the 25-year-old was already close to agreeing a move to Lille.
The midfielder is said to be rated highly by Rennes manager Bruno Génésio. Les Rouge et Noir are in the market for a versatile forward who would be able to play on the right, and Blas ticks this very box. The Nantes player is also comfortable playing as a playmaker. The outlet goes on to claim that Rennes are looking for an experienced Ligue 1 player in his prime years who already played an European competition – a profile that is tailored to Blas. According to RMC, Rennes have submitted an enquiry regarding the feasibility of the transfer from their Brittany arch-rivals.
